Zachary Vaughn, along with his wife Jessica Vaughn, is a founder of Vaughn Law Firm located in Petal, Mississippi. He graduated Western Wyoming Community College in 1998 with an Associate’s Degree in criminal justice. Thereafter he attended the University of Mississippi and in 2000 graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration majoring in Marketing. He then graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law in 2004. Upon graduation from law school he passed the Mississippi Bar as well as the Arkansas Bar.
In 2005, Zach accepted a position as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the 10th Judicial District of Arkansas which encompasses the 5 southeastern counties of Arkansas (Drew, Desha, Chicot, Bradley and Ashley). In this position, he represented both the people and the State of Arkansas by prosecuting defendants charged with crimes ranging from capital murder, larceny, sexual abuse, assault and battery to drugs offenses and misdemeanors.
In all, Zach has conducted 120 or more jury trials. In the process, he has acquired an in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system. He is familiar with the indictment process, elements of the of the charge, plea negotiations, affirmative defenses and self-defense, jury selection, trial tactics from both the standpoint of the prosecution and the defense, jury instructions as well the often over looked suppression issues related to unconstitutional searches and Miranda violations.
